About Counselling

Many people benefit from counselling and psychotherapy

The purpose of psychotherapy is not to give advice, but to help you understand your feelings and behaviour better and if you want to, to change your behaviour or the way you think about things.

I regularly work with people experiencing anxiety, stress and depression.

Some are working through life crises, others are coming to terms with loss, going through relationship problems, or have suffered abuse. Some are simply keen to understand themselves better.

Generally, people who I have seen for counselling/psychotherapy have been successful in tackling their most pressing problems.

Those who engage in longer-term psychotherapy have a greater opportunity to grow as people and to build a capacity to address life’s challenges and make meaning of them.
